I pursue the free expression of my inner state, without the need for concealment or embellishment, demonstrating directness, sincerity, and perseverance. Personalization, independence, and originality infuse my artistic creations with vitality.
The tension, appeal, and impact of a painting stem from the artist’s inner emotions and thoughts. They require no words or explanations, just as one naturally absorbs the atmosphere they are in, feeling the heat or cold in high or low temperatures without being told.
Silent visual art not only displays the artist’s inner world but also reflects their perspective on the external world. Upon completing such a work, the artist may feel immense pleasure and excitement, and they also aspire to make the world a more ideal and humane place through their art.
Creation is actually a continuous process of negation. Philosophical thought teaches us that the progress of humanity is a journey of negation, affirmation, re-negation, and re-affirmation. Having worked in banking for twenty years, I understand that initially, humans traded through direct exchange of goods, which was later negated by the introduction of a medium of exchange: gold and silver.
Subsequently, the emergence of paper money negated the use of gold and silver as mediums of exchange. Further, the advent of credit and debit cards negated the use of paper currency. Now, the introduction of electronic payments, WeChat transfers, and facial recognition payments are negating the use of credit and debit cards. In the future, banks will transform into unmanned, online entities. All banking functions will move to your home, your desk, your computer, and your mobile phone.
Visual art has also evolved through a continuous process of negation. From the meticulous perfection of classical oil painting to the emergence of modern Western oil painting, and the subsequent advent of Impressionism, Expressionism, Fauvism, Pop Art, and graffiti, each new movement negated the previous ones. This series of negations and re-negations has shaped the diverse and vibrant world of contemporary visual arts.
I paint my heart, I persevere. I deny myself and persist through negation, holding steadfast to sincerity, authenticity, and genuine expression.
