The Art Exhibition of Cheung Chi Wai (2020)

2020 was an extraordinary year in human history. The sudden outbreak of the pandemic swept across the globe, plunging humanity into a state of panic, grief, and helplessness. Moved by these events, I held a solo exhibition in Shanghai titled "2020." The title "2020" resonated with the painful year it represented. I used 2020 portrait paintings to symbolize the extraordinary nature of this year, making it the theme of the exhibition. The portraits served as a heartfelt cry, a questioning voice, and a reminder to the world to remember this painful moment, reflect on 2020, fight against the pandemic, and ensure that sorrow becomes a memory and that such tragedies do not recur.

The Art Exhibition of Cheung Chi Wai (2018)

2018 was a peak year for my exhibitions. On the second day of the Chinese New Year, my solo exhibition "Direct Impact" opened at the Simon Art Museum in Chambon, France. That winter, France experienced particularly cold weather, with continuous heavy snowfall in the Chambon region, covering the mountains and plains in a blanket of white. Before the exhibition opened, Mr. Simon, the museum director, expressed concern, saying, "With the heavy snow and cold weather, the French are unlikely to go out." He advised me to be mentally prepared for a potentially low turnout at the opening ceremony.

The Art Exhibition of Cheung Chi Wai (2017)

In 2017, I held an art exhibition from July 12 to August 18, titled "My Paintings, My Heart: Real Corners." The exhibition took place on the first floor of the City Hall of Paris, a magnificent building constructed in 1896. Lasting for 38 days, it coincided with the local peak tourist season, attracting art enthusiasts from around the world and residents there. The daily flow of visitors was bustling and continuous. This exhibition in the heart of Paris also allowed me to observe deeply, for the first time, that people from different countries share the same longing and interpretation of art.
